Who are we?
A non-profit dedicated to improving educational opportunities for children in Mexico
What do we do?
We develop community centers which focus on children at risk for early school leaving
What is our strategy?
We combine social, education and psychological programs to achieve our goals. Our primary tool is the community tutor program which trains teens and adults to mentor primary school children.
How did we get here?
In 1988 - A group of US Peace Corps Volunteers started making biannual trips to Mexico.
In 1990 - Group builds first classroom in Ferrocarril #4, Rio Bravo Tamauilipas.
In 2001, the group formed the US Non-Profit Amigos de las Escuelas
In 2004 the group became a Mexico Non-Profit organization.
